In 1989, 28-year-old Trisha Meili, a successful investment banker in New York, was living her dream. When she wasn’t working, Trisha enjoyed running in Central Park, a place she frequented four to five times a week. She loved the beauty of the park and the contrast between nature and the city’s skyscrapers.
But in April 1989, Trisha’s usual run took a horrifying turn. It was around 9:00 PM when she left work to go for her jog. Even though it was getting late, Central Park was still a bustling spot with many people around, so Trisha probably felt safe running there at night. Trisha’s usual route took her from the 84th Street entrance to the 102nd Street cross drive.
Hours later, her body was found unconscious, lying by the cross drive. She was covered in mud and had severe injuries, including skull fractures and deep lacerations.
