Mother’s Fiancé Executes 9-Year-Old Who Just Wanted a Happy Family
Charlise Mutten was born in 2013 to Kallista Mutten but had been living with her maternal grandmother in Coolangatta, Queensland since the age of five. Her parents had separated shortly after her birth, and she did not maintain any contact with her father.
During this time, Kallista had served a three-year prison sentence following a conviction for dangerous driving causing death while under the influence of methamphetamines.
This was where Kallista met her partner, Justin Stein, and later became engaged to him.
By December 2021, following Justin’s release from prison, he and Kallista invited Charlise to spend the Christmas holidays with them at Justin’s parents’ residence and business, the Wildenstein Estate in Mount Wilson.
Charlise was described by her grandfather as a girl who loved animals. She had just won a literacy prize at school and was excited about the prospect of having two parents. She even called Stein, ‘Daddy’, believing he could become the father figure she had always yearned for.
But, a sinister reality lurked beneath the surface of this seemingly happy family dynamic.
