Teens Inspired by Scream Movie Document Their Murderous Plan to Fame
On September 22, 2006, Cassie Jo Stoddart was house-sitting for her aunt and uncle, looking after their pets while they were away. That evening, she invited her boyfriend, Matt Beckham, over to keep her company.
Matt, in turn, invited his friend Torey Adamczyk, who brought along Brian Draper. All four – Cassie, Matt, Torey, and Brian – were 11th graders at Pocatello High School
The four teenagers spent a couple of hours watching movies and hanging out. But beneath the surface of this seemingly normal teenage gathering, a dark plot was brewing.
Unknown to Cassie and Matt, Torey and Brian had been keeping a ‘death list’ containing the names of several classmates they wanted to kill. Cassie’s name was on that list. That night, they had decided to make her their first victim.
As the evening progressed, Torey and Brian left the house, but they had no intention of actually going home.
Parking down the street, the two donned dark clothing, gloves, and masks, then slipped back into the house through the basement door that Brian had intentionally left unlocked. They waited in the shadows, listening to Cassie and Matt upstairs, their hearts pounding with anticipation.
